Irene Makris was appointed Vice President, Customer Service, at Pratt & Whitney Canada in February 2022. In this role, she provides innovative leadership to our global Customer Service organization, including Aftermarket Operations, Program and Fleet Management, Asset Management, Global Sales, Commercial Services, and our Global Service Centre Network.
Irene joined Pratt & Whitney Canada in 2001 driving Customer Contracts Management and Synchronization activities. She subsequently held Program Management positions within Operations and the service center network, before being appointed Executive Assistant to the President in 2005. In 2008, she assumed leadership of the Externals, Controls and Nacelles Supply Chain team, driving critical negotiations, managing supplier quality, and developing strong relationships, and in 2010, she was named Executive Director, Externals, Controls and Nacelles. In 2012, her scope was expanded as Vice President, Global Supply Chain, leading both product and indirect procurement as well as Quality and Sourcing strategy. In June 2015, she was appointed Vice President, Marketing & Sales, leading all product market segments, developing and executing on market and product strategies with the aircraft OEMs, managing current program needs while securing future program platforms and securing market growth. Prior to P&WC, Irene held engineering positions at Honeywell and senior manager roles at GE, where she earned her Six Sigma Black Belt.
Irene holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business. She has also completed Business Analytics and Machine Learning programs as part of a certificate in Innovation & Technology she is pursuing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Irene has completed leadership development programs at Thayer Leadership (West Point) and INSEAD (Singapore). She is an active leader on our Women in Leadership and Women in Aerospace committees. As part of RTX’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Board, she supports new initiatives by our Employee Resource Groups.
