Before you leave
Cancelled Courses
Circumstances may require that a course be postponed or cancelled on short notice. Every effort will be made to reduce the inconvenience this can cause; however, when booking airline tickets, customers should be aware that course dates could be altered. P&WC Customer Training will not reimburse any expenses incurred due to a postponed or cancelled course.

Currency Exchange
Currency exchange is available at local airports or other agencies. P&WC Customer Training Centres do not have the capability to exchange currency. Travelers' cheques are recommended.

Enrollment Policy
Students must be able to read, write and have a working understanding of the English language.
Bookings are accepted on a "first-come, first-served" basis, up to the maximum class enrollment. Upon receipt of your online registration, we will confirm your status of enrollment via email.
We reserve the right to cancel courses with low enrollment 30 days before the scheduled date.
P&WC Customer Training also reserves the right to limit representation of students in a specific class. This is especially true for courses with high market demand to allow maximum exposure to our wide customer base. In addition, priority may be given to Operators and Aircraft Manufacturers (OEM).
Written cancellation, preferably 10 days prior to the course date, allows us to advise others on our waiting list.

Transportation
Transportation to and from local airports is not provided.
Daily transportation between the preferred hotels in St. Hubert and Ludwigsfelde, and the Customer Training facility is provided by the hotel.

Class Size
The ratio of students to instructors varies depending on the type of course.
Line Maintenance: 1 instructor to 12 students (EASA 1 instructor to 10 Students)
WEB Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (WEBECTM): 1 instructor to 12 students

Class Time
In St. Hubert and Ludwigsfelde, all courses start at 8:15 a.m. and finish at 3:30 p.m. with 45 minutes for lunch. In Singapore, courses start at 8:30 a.m. and finish at 4:00 p.m. with 1 hour for lunch.
Students attending courses in St. Hubert should not book departure flights before 6:00 p.m. on the last day of their course. Travel time plus airport processing time will be a minimum of 2½ hours.

Dress Code
We suggest casual attire for all training courses.
In St. Hubert and Ludwigsfelde the winter months are November to March. The average temperature is approximately -10°C (14° F) and may drop as low as -30°C (-22° F) during the months of January and February. Please remember to bring your winter wardrobe.

Examination
Students are evaluated on each engine maintenance training and WEBEC™ by written exams. Exams are given during each course and a minimum 75% passing mark is required to obtain a certificate.

Certificate of Recognition
Students with satisfactory attendance and who have obtained a passing grade of 75% (new passing mark since October 18, 2004) or more, receive a certificate stating that they have "successfully completed" the particular engine course.
Students who do not obtain the passing grade will not receive a certificate. This also applies if a student misses more than 5% of the course.
A fee of $45.00 U.S. will be charged for researching and preparing certificates for courses completed. Certificates will not be provided for courses held more than 10 years ago.

Instructors
All Customer Training instructors have an aeronautical college education and at least five years related experience or a minimum of 10 years of related field experience prior to employment by P&WC Customer Training. Our instructors have various levels of technical experience in many different functions within the company, but mainly in engineering and assembly.

Practical Training
The principal objective of practical training is to teach the correct maintenance, servicing, rigging and inspection of P&WC engines. To create an atmosphere conducive to actual working conditions, students participating in shop activities will be required to maintain a clean working area and demonstrate safe working practices.
Practical training is reinforced using different media including demonstrations on actual components and troubleshooting discussions. Particular attention is given to instruction in borescope inspection techniques and diagnostic equipment used in performing routine engine inspections and troubleshooting.

Facilities, services and on-site information
Cafeteria
In St. Hubert and Ludwigsfelde, a variety of hot and cold meals are available at a cafeteria (payment with local currency only). Students who attend training in Singapore have a variety of local restaurants to choose from, all within walking distance of the Training Centre.

Medical Care
Any special medical considerations should be noted. Arrangements for medical insurance and other needs should be taken into account by all students before leaving for a training course.
A Medical Centre is located near the Customer Training facility in St-Hubert. There's a nurse available at all times during regular class hours. In Ludwigsfelde and Singapore, this supplementary service is limited to first aid.

Parking
In St-Hubert, there’s a visitor parking area for customers who require a parking space for the duration of their stay. The designated area is near the Main Gate Guard House. All visitors must first register with the Security personnel before entering the premises.
In Singapore, a parking area is located next to the Customer Training building and can be used by students attending a course. In Ludwigsfelde, parking is available outside the gate.

Promotional Items
In St. Hubert, promotional items are on display and can be purchased when attending courses at the Training Centre. These items are not sold by the Customer Training Organization but are offered by the P&WC Aero Boutique. Purchases must be made in person and paid with cash only.

Safety
The engine maintenance training courses include hands-on training in our Training Centre shop area. Students are required to maintain a clean work area and demonstrate safe work habits while in the shop.
P&WC safety policy applies to all Training Centres and requires the use of safety shoes in the shop area, i.e. sandals or other leisure footwear are not permitted. Students can bring their own safety shoes or we supply protective overshoes. Proper footwear should be worn (flat heals) at the Training Centre to accommodate overshoes.
Protective eyewear must be worn in the shop area when carrying out specific maintenance procedures. Students will be provided with slip-on protective over shoes and eye protection as necessary.

Security
The security personnel in St. Hubert and Ludwigsfelde are mandated to question all individuals who wish to enter the premises without an authorized badge. Any customer who come by their own means of transportation will need to stop at the Main Gate Guard House and obtain permission to enter.
Each student will be issued a badge. This badge must be worn at all times and presented each morning upon entering the premises.
Students attending a course in Singapore will be welcomed by the receptionist and will be required to wear the badge provided by the instructor during their stay.
Cameras and video equipment are not permitted on the premises. Students wishing to take a class picture must deposit their camera with the Training Centre front desk upon arrival in the morning and retrieve it at the end of the day.

Smoking Policy
All company locations in North America are smoke-free environments. At the Customer Training Centre in St. Hubert, smoking is not permitted anywhere on company property. For all other Customer Training Centres, smoking is not permitted inside the P&WC facilities. It is only permitted outside in designated areas.

Student Expenses
P&WC is not liable for any expenses incurred by students. Each student is responsible for paying hotel bills, etc.
Please ensure that students have sufficient funds to cover return transportation and expenses, as well as funds to cover any unexpected expenses. Funds should be in the local currency.

Telephone Calls
To prevent disruption of instruction, messages will be delivered to classrooms only in emergency cases.
In St-Hubert, courtesy phones are available for students to make local calls. Pay phones are available for all long distance calls or credit card calls.
