P&WC Helps Clear the Air with its Severe Operating Conditions Program for Regional Airlines
Pratt & Whitney Canada’s new program for engine operating in severe environment for the PW100 and PW150 families of engines has been designed to help improve predictability of shop visit intervals and provide maintenance recommendations to operators (specific components at specific intervals) in harsh environments where factors like sand and dust are prevalent.
With its Severe Environment Program, P&WC is offering specialized packages of replacement parts that will help operators maximize on-wing intervals and reduce their direct maintenance costs – since with replacement parts there is no need to inspect and clean parts.
The program results in better time-on-wing performance and consequently helps airlines remain competitive despite the environmental challenges they might face. It essentially levels the playing field for such regional airlines and furthermore results in improved dispatch reliability, better planned maintenance and heightened engine durability.
“P&WC knows that regional operators flying routes where there are severe environmental conditions face special challenges,” says Richard Dussault, Vice President, Marketing, P&WC. “We have developed the Severe Environment Program to give our regional operators a competitive edge in serving environmentally challenging routes and locations.”
