Pratt & Whitney Canada
Charles Vaillancourt was appointed Chief Information Officer, Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), in 2014. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s information technology (IT) strategy and the systems that support its activities.
Prior to joining P&WC, Mr. Vaillancourt served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Cogeco Cable, a publicly traded telecommunications company.
Previously, Mr. Vaillancourt was Vice President, Global Business Engineering at CGI, a world-class IT service provider, where he was responsible for structuring, negotiating and implementing large IT outsourcing service contracts worldwide. He joined CGI after it acquired a software architecture and development firm he had co-founded. Before his career in the IT sector, he was a mechanical engineer at Nortel and GE Aviation.
Mr. Vaillancourt holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Université Laval. His research focused on the International Space Station's robotic systems. He presently sits on the boards of directors of Université de Sherbrooke and Montréal/Saint-Hubert Airport. He is an avid sailor and an instrument-rated pilot.
