Irene Makris is Vice President, Marketing, responsible for all market segments at Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC).
In this position, Ms. Makris provides leadership to the entire marketing organization with a focus on business development for P&WC’s full product suite. Working with a variety of marketing teams, she nurtures and develops creative marketing strategies to address the challenges and opportunities of the aviation market. Her reach extends to developing new markets, defining and coordinating new product concepts, establishing product design and leading product marketing and sales activities. She plays a direct role in aligning Pratt & Whitney and United Technologies Corporation’s strategies and common initiatives and continues to ensure P&WC remains a leader in its various market segments.
Ms. Makris joined P&WC in 2001. She began her career leading logistics optimization initiatives for original equipment manufacturers and P&WC, which led to program-management roles in Operations and the Service Centre Network. In 2008, she assumed the leadership of the Externals, Controls & Nacelles (ECN) Supply Chain teams and in 2010 was appointed Director, ECN, with the integration of the Aftermarket Technical Services and Quality teams. Ms. Makris was named Vice President, Global Supply Chain, in February 2013, and Vice President, Marketing, responsible for the helicopter engine segment in 2015.
Prior to joining P&WC, Ms. Makris held senior-materials and program-management roles at General Electric and engineering roles at Honeywell.
Ms. Makris holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University and a master’s degree in administration from Concordia University.
