Pratt & Whitney Canada Appoints Lufthansa A.E.R.O. Designated Overhaul Facility 'DOF' for PW150 Engine

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 22, 2005) - Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC), a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company, has appointed Lufthansa A.E.R.O. GmbH as a Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) for the PW150 family of turboprop engines.

"Lufthansa A.E.R.O. is the first independent DOF for the PW150 engine and will provide operators of Bombardier Q400 commuter aircraft with an additional choice for reliable repair and overhaul services, further strengthening our global network of service centres," said Maria Della Posta, Vice President, Customer Support, P&WC.

Lufthansa A.E.R.O. will perform Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and Hot Section Inspections (HSIs) on PW150A and PW150B engine models at its facility in Alzey, Germany, near Frankfurt. It also has a rapid response Mobile Repair Team (MRT) available to support operators in the field.

Lufthansa A.E.R.O. has a long history of collaboration with P&WC and is already a DOF for the PW100 engine family and PW901A Auxiliary Power Units (APUs).
