Pratt & Whitney Canada Delivers a Cheque for Over
$90,000 to Seven Women's Shelters

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 14, 2004) - Pratt &
Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC) has presented a cheque for $90,509
that will be shared equally among seven Montreal South Shore
shelters for women and children who are victims of family
violence. The money represents half of the proceeds from the 18th
annual Les Femmeuses art exhibition and sale, which was attended
by more than 5,500 visitors at the company's Longueuil head
office last April.

"We are delighted that each of the shelters will this year
receive a record $12,929 from Les Femmeuses," Alain M. Bellemare,
President, P&WC, said during the cheque presentation ceremony on
September 9. "This important cultural and community event
organized by P&WC is growing from success to success and making a
real difference in people's lives."

The 18th edition of Les Femmeuses featured 153 artworks by
professional women artists in the visual arts. In all, 122 works
of art and 40 prints were sold during the event; combined with
sales of T-shirts, catalogs and donations, it raised close to
$175,000 compared with $170,000 last year. Half the proceeds
from the sale of artwork goes to the artists who sold their works
and the other half is divided among the seven shelters.

Since its inception in 1986, Les Femmeuses has provided a total
of close to $900,000 to the seven shelters, which together have
helped more than 35,000 women and children. Funds donated allow
them to provide lodging, offer 24/7 telephone service, organize
individual or group meetings, and arrange accompaniment during
legal proceedings.

The shelters receiving funds from Les Femmeuses are: Carrefour
pour Elle in Longueuil; La Cle sur la Porte in St-Hyacinthe; La
Maison Simonne Monet-Chartrand in Chambly; La Re-Source in
Chateauguay; Maison Hina in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu; Maison La
Source in Sorel-Tracy; and Pavillon Marguerite de Champlain in
St-Hubert.
