Pratt & Whitney Canada Benefit Concerts-A Merry
Christmas for the Less Fortunate

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--The ninth edition of Pratt & Whitney Canada's
(P&WC's) Christmas Benefit Concerts have been more successful
than ever this year. Thanks to the initiative of P&WC, which is
continuing its Christmas tradition, an exceptional total of
nearly 200 boxes of non-perishable food items will be distributed
to approximately 700 less fortunate families on the South Shore.
What's more, the concerts drew about 2,300 people, who
contributed to the food drive.

The three sold-out performances, on December 8 in the Pratt &
Whitney Canada Hall's of the Theatre de la Ville in Longueuil and
on December 11 at the Centre Multifonctionnel de Boucherville,
won the hearts of the thousands who attended. The impressive
shows featured 300 local artists and starred the Pratt & Whitney
Canada Choir, the Longueuil Harmony Choir, the Laval-Laurentides
Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Dimension Arts Dance Company and
the College Charles-Lemoyne Dance Faculty.

The audience was captivated by the story inspired by the works of
Diane Piche, author of "Le Noel d'Elodie," set to music by Michel
Masse, composer. Some 120 dancers performed brilliantly
accompanied by 70 musicians from the Laval-Laurentides Youth
Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andre Gauthier. In the second
half, Christmas carols revived nostalgia for the holiday season
among our faithful audience.

The 200 boxes of food were collected at the concerts and during
other P&WC Christmas activities are being given to "Operation
Noel," a group of parishes and agencies in Longueuil that will
distribute Christmas gift baskets to more than 700 less fortunate
families on the South Shore.
