Pratt & Whitney Canada Posts Major Wins in EMS/Police
Helicopter Market in Europe

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--Two helicopters powered by PW206E engines have
been ordered by The Schreiner Aviation Group for air medical
operations in The Netherlands, further reaffirming Pratt & Whitney
Canada Corp.'s (P&WC) strong presence in the light-twin helicopter
market in Europe.

The Schreiner Aviation Group, a major European helicopter
operator, will operate the two MD Explorer(R) helicopters, to
transport patients to and from Groningen and Nijmegen Hospitals.
This order completes a successful year for P&WC in The
Netherlands, where it won all major helicopter competitions. In
July, the Dutch Police placed an order for four MD Explorers
powered by the PW207E engine, and Freedom Explorer, a Dutch
Internet Company, placed an order for two PW206C-powered Agusta
A109E Power.

The PW200 family of engine has proven capabilities in extreme
operating conditions and has accumulated a quarter million hours
in flight since its first delivery in 1994. The engine is backed
by the most comprehensive warranty in the industry, as well as an
extensive support plan for commercial and military operators. "We
have over twenty years of experience with P&WC products, both in
fixed wing and helicopters," said Mr. Tjapko Van Wijk, Managing
Director of Schreiner Aviation. "This very lasting relationship
is built upon reliability and proven performance. The Explorer is
a great aircraft/engine combination."

PW200 family engines also power the Bell Model 427, the Eurocopter
EC135 and the Kazan Ansat. This year it is estimated that PW200
series engines will power more than 70 per cent of new light-twin
helicopters to be delivered, making P&WC the market leader in this
segment.

P&WC, based in Longueuil, Quebec, is a world leader in aviation
engines powering business and regional aircraft and helicopters.
The company also offers advanced engines for industrial
applications. P&WC's operations and service network span the
globe. In 1999, sales were in excess of Cdn$2 billion. P&WC is a
subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, a high-technology
company based in Hartford, Connecticut.
