Pratt & Whitney Receives Order for 100 ST5 Industrial Engines

Pratt & Whitney Receives Order for 100 ST5 Industrial
Engines
LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) will
supply 100 ST5 industrial gas turbines to DTE Energy Technologies
of Farmington Hills, Michigan for the DTE Energy/Now ENT4000
mini-turbine generator set.
The engines will be delivered over a 12-month period, starting in
early 2002. The value of the order was not disclosed.
"We are very pleased to be working with DTE Energy Technologies on
the ENT4000 Program. We feel that this product will be ideally
suited to customers' requirements for an efficient, reliable and
environmentally friendly power source.
"The ENT4000 driven by the ST5 will be a winning solution to these
needs," said Michael Foley, General Manager of PWPS Small Engine
Division.
The ST5 is a new high efficiency mini-turbine being developed by
PWPS for DTE, primarily for use in distributed generation
applications. It will be available in both simple cycle and
recuperated versions, with power output up to 400 kilowatts and
will be manufactured by Pratt & Whitney Canada.
