Martin Kessell was appointed Vice President, APU Market, Pratt & Whitney Canada, in January 2016. His responsibilities include all strategic, sales, marketing and customer activities for the full range of commercial auxiliary power units (APUs). Previously, he held the position of Vice President & General Manager at Pratt & Whitney AeroPower, based in San Diego, California, and Rzeszow, Poland, where he was responsible for the full range of commercial and military APUs as well as the turbojet product family.
Mr. Kessell began his 25-year UTC career at Hamilton Sundstrand as a Field Service Engineer, based in San Francisco, California. His next assignments included Manager, Field Service, and Director, Technical Support, based in Rockford, Illinois, and General Manager, Customer Support & Commercial Programs, for Pratt & Whitney AeroPower.
Prior to joining UTC, Mr. Kessell worked for five years at the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, where he was a Propulsion Engineer and then later a Customer Training Instructor.
Mr. Kessell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Mr. Kessell was born in Washington State and currently resides in San Diego.
