Pratt & Whitney Canada is fully committed, during manufacture and in operation, to bring engines to market that use less hazardous materials and produce lower emissions and noise.

Our green technologies have been used in the more than 65 engines we have developed over the last 12 years, and in the 20 new engines currently under development.
As the No. 1 R&D investor in Canada’s aerospace sector, Pratt & Whitney Canada is investing $1.5 billion in R&D over a period of 5 years and partnering with leading Canadian universities and research centres to continue building on our successes in this important area.
Our goal is to stay far ahead of the curve with respect to green engine technologies, and we have a rigorous plan in place to achieve this. Our development work extends to the materials we use to design our engines as well as the processes in place to build them.
